The clarity of detailing on the form of the Cactus Wren, the contrast between the little bird and the muted nature of the background and the catchlight in the eye work to create a very appealing bird study.

I might have cropped down to nearly the branch on the left to lessen the impact of the white lying in the upper left hand corner of the picture.

As per Jans suggestion the comp would be stonger if cropped down and would lose some from the left as well. birds always look stronger if the head is in the top third of the image.

nice catch though with good detail and alert pose
