Rhino Beetle

This guy was making a cracking sound outside my window, I went to investigate and found this (I think) Rhino Beetle, due to the horn on it's head. It had a blue/black shell and a brownish underbelly. Image is a 25 yr old negative, scanned. Only natural light and hand held.

Don't remember the lens but it wasn't a macro lens.

Spent a little time viewing you picture and then doing a Google to find out more information about the Rhino Beetle and that's when I realized that I was looking at the reason why this is called a Rhino Beetle; namely, the horn growing up towards the back of the creature.

Certainly looks fierce some but from what I read it is quite harmless to humans.
