3 weeks ago I returned from Upper Peninsula of Michigan, now is processing the pictures. There is another view of the same fall with a small difference. I really don't know which is better, my and my wife's opinions are different.

I find myself leaning towards the second image... the bluish hues of the water stands out more with more of a complementary feel created between the water and autumnal toning of the foliage at the bottom of the image. Also the opening to the water that is visible at the bottom of the opening picture is not there in the second image which works to give a more completed feel to the second picture, at least for me.

Jan, thank you, we are together. I also like the second view better.

My vote for second too! It looks more balanced.

I'm siding with your wife on this. IMO the OP is better but with a couple of small fixes. I'd
crop enough off the top to get rid of the small hot spots on the water and enough off the
bottom to eliminate the large leaf breaking into the middle of the frame at the bottom edge.
I'd try to fit the hot spots first without cropping so the pine tree isn't lost. There's more fall
color along the right side in the OP and I like the opening at the bottom under the large
branch where more of the water is clearly visible. A CP filter would eliminate or at least
reduce the glare off the leaves on the left side.

Thank you, Jeff. In the evening after returning from work I'll play your suggestions.

I prefer the OP as well. I like the bottom part of the falls trailing off at the bottom. I would like to see your other version as suggested by Jeff...

Jeff, I tried to do what you'd suggested. I cropped a little bit a bottom tp get rid of the leaf, darkened the the hot spots of thewater(I did not want to crop them out because the green tree on the right hand would be cut dramatically), used sepia filter and decreased the saturation of the yellow channel a little. This is a result. But I still like the second image better, from my point its composition is better although the part of the autumn colors is missing.
