Mountain Top Morning

Shot at 7 AM from Blueberry Lake facing west. Brand new to photography, experimenting with exposure and apature. Got lucky here.

Canon 7d using a Canon EF24-105 f4 L @ 50mm. 1/20, ISO 200, -3 2/3 exposure compensation. 0.6 graduated ND filter.

Good for you getting up early to get some very nice light. Excellent layering
(foreground, mid and background). My only problem with the composition is the nearly
bald sky taking up half the frame. Wasted space IMO. I'd crop about 2/3 of it. You're
off to a good start.

The lighting works well in your image to enhance the layering that one finds as they move upward from the landscape to the sky. I would agree with Jeff about cropping out a portion of the empty blue sky which works to bring more presence to the Alaskan landscape.

Agreed as well, beautifully done but losing half the sky would bring the beautiful parts out even more.
