My first shot of a skipper and a difficult bug to capture. The dof is not great but maybe next time I will get it better. Uncrop and handheld.

I like the contrast between the skipper (and the bud it is perched on) and the diffuse nature of the background which serves to make the skipper stand out strongly in the image, the coloring of the skipper (especially the light color on the edges of the wings which creates the illusion of a halo) and the clarity of detailing. You have a steady hand!

oh-yes. I think the DoF is PERFECt. Focus on the eye is spot on. The color contrasts are outstanding and very complimentary. Nice work
