I know I will most likely be critized for posting this flower photo, but my P&S cannot blur the background. However, I like the flower as is, as it shows the detail of the Passion flower. This flowering wine is the only Host Plant for the Florida Zebra Long Wing Butterfly. I darkened the shadows as much as I could. Please comment and advise. Thank you.

I'm not sure if you could have zoomed in more with your camera and filled the picture with the Passion flower but I think that is the way I would have gone with the greener central portion of the blossom contrasting with the ribbed nature of the purple tendrils. I tried this by cropping your original posted image but I think it would work to do that out of the camera rather than after camera.

By the way you have a double posting of the same picture. Go to the home page of PC and then to the menu on the left side to My PC which will open to a page where you can delete a posted picture.

A very wild looking flower. Looks like some other worldly creature clinging to the
stamen. Although there's a couple of spiked highlight areas the light is pretty good.
There's not much of the background showing and although kind of sharp as a P&S
would show it's pretty good. Play around with a variety of crops to get the stamen area
out of the center. Don't need to show the entire flower. No one is going to criticize you
for posting it. If a dozen people walked up to this flower 11 of them would probably take
a photo pretty much like this. Try to be the 12th.
