Mt. Rainier

Looking south onto the 14,000 foot mountain. If you can't see it from Seattle, it's raining. If you can see it, it's going to rain. But way up there it snows and the volcano holds 26 glaciers and numerous permanent snowfields, 36 square miles worth.

I like the painterly feel of your composition of Mount Rainier (the light, the color and the nature of the setting), the view across the greenery to the snow capped form of Mount Rainer (like looking at a cresting wave) and your comments for the picture. I remember this mountain from my teenage years and taking trips there for skiing.

A beautiful capture of the the mountain. I especially like the moody dark tones, with layered lighter areas. Judging by the light halo areas inside the tree, I would guess that you darkened the sky.

It almost looks like a painting and I like the dark mood in it. Nice.;-)

Thanks Jan, Ruth, Steve, and Sandi. Ruth, I did fiddle with the sky. I wanted to bring out the violet there. Here is a corrected version w/o the halos. Thanks for pointing that out. I gotta get better at this!

Nice light on the mountain, and good fix.

There once was a man whose days were like his nights.
Not for lack of eyesight was he made blind,
No, instead his head was stuck up his behind.
