rail bridge

I took this image using a welder glass which gave me lots of time for the
exposure ,the problem with the glass is its green!! i shot it in raw .but had
problems trying to correct the colour so decided to turn it black and white in
photo shop..the image was took at f8 370 secs iso 200

The perspective works for me with the rail bridge rising majestically above the head of the viewer and leading the eyes of the viewer through the image. I might have cropped out the vertical elements on the left and just gone with the bridge itself. The long exposure gives a strange sense to the water... rather than being horizontal it has a vertical feel as if a wall of water were sweeping over the foreground pier.

The water looks kind of odd to me, but the B&W treatment and the glassy water do give this a good look. You know, I think I have taken a photo of this bridge from exactly the same spot. I'm pretty sure that the two hawsers are on the bottom of mine.

Really very cool! Welder glass = interesting, creative idea.

IMO, two obvious, easy fixes:

1. You've got a pronounced tilt to the left.
2. And you might consider a big crop-off to the left as Jan suggests.
