Will I Be Able To Process Photos Anymore?

Need some advice or help here!

I had to have Windows 7 reinstalled last week, which uninstalled all my programs, including Photoshop CS 5.

I reinstalled it from my CD successfully. Then I entered the correct serial #, plus the previous supporting correct serial # as required but can't get it re-registered, because Adobe doesn't complete the process. I talked to Adobe, and they just said they no longer offer support for CS 5.

How many of you are using Photoshop Cloud subscription?

I don't want to subscribe to the Cloud. Any suggestions as to how to get CS 5 reinstalled?

Or if not, what other programs are people using for sophisticated photo processing?

Lightroom seems to be very popular.

I use Nik, Perfect Effect and Paint Shop Pro along with PS3 and PS5. I find Nik works well to bring out detailing. Perfect Effect was a freeware while Nik and Paint Shop Pro are purchases.

Hello!
To start, I really appreciate the photo! The curved lines from left-
>right ending with the plane is fantastic.

I have a subscription for Adobe Creative cloud, under a discounted
student membership. Which I understand doesn't solve your issue, but
figured I'd account for it...
There is a limited offer for PS CC and Lightroom CC for $9.99 a month,
if that intrigues you.

As far as the product activation is considered, I would wonder if it
is registered, but not activating, or vice versa. If it is linked to
your Adobe ID but not activating in-program, then perhaps it is a
server discrepancy or a program related malfunction.

I would try uninstalling Photoshop, restart, and try again.

If that doesn't work I would try installing it via an online download.

Other programs include: GIMP, Paint.net & Picasa.

I appreciate you frustration Ruth! When I went from Windows XP to Windows 8, I had to reinstall all my programs, but my CS5 reloaded O.K.
I like the picture and the amusing title!

So are you saying - it won't work because it is not registered ? I would try a re-install and If it is still no go I would think you could find an answer/solve by searching your problem thru Google. You can almost do everything in Lightroom, everyone should be using it and you could then by pass Photoshop and use a different secondary like Michael Meek One/one? I have photoshop cloud on the monthly payments, as I will write them off. But I would never give up on PS because the advances it makes and I like printing thru PS. For pure work you need Lightroom for secondary work like manipulations I choose PS and add other softwares. And my old PS is still active for older software that is no longer compatible with 64 bit. And I was thinking to get my wife Lightroom as it is so easy to use and develop images.

Thanks for all the help, everyone.

Taking Alkrion's advice, I uninstalled it, then installed its predecessor, and reinstalled CS 5. It finally worked. Also, I was able to upgrade to CS6. Hope I don't have problems there.

Now all I have to do is plow through all the snow, and find some piccies.
