Mourning Doves

Mourning Doves, in the evening on my deck.
They allowed me to get very close...

So sweet. I like the soft light and the sitting position of the birds. Very hard to get shots of these in the wild so you were fortunate to get so close to them. Were you feeding them? Nice job on the shooting...;-)

There is a pleasing textural feel to your composition of the mourning doves which invites the viewer to reach right into the image while the catch light in their eyes bring the two birds to life for me.

I don't feed them. They make too much of a mess! Mourning Doves are very plentiful around here. Compared to most other wild birds, they are not that skittish and therefore pretty easy to photograph. I was only about 6-8 feet away, shooting through window glass.

Beautiful tones and lovely light. They look very happy to be near you. The texture of their
feathers is so sharp. Beautiful image.
