I like the image and I really like how you put the sun in the upper right corner with the beams radiating down and to yhe right. It is a wall hanger!!

So much of interest in your composition of the Alps... the rising sun against all that snow and ice, the sense of scale created by the lone figure in all that alpine vastness, and the sense of the clouds in the distance rolling through the mountain pass. An experience that will live with you forever.

That guy appears to be exercising, as if he didn't get enough just to get where he is. He succeeds in giving scale to the image, and what an image! Love the sparkly foreground and those clouds sitting there below that mountain.

I have been enjoying your Alps series. This one is very nice also...the sense of scale is amazing.;-)

Sense of scale indeed. I want to shout "dude, watch out for that
avalanche!'"

beautiful as such, i think shall be prettier if back mountains are bit more contrasty with sky.

Wow! Love everything about it. Very cool lens flare.

At least we don't have that much snow yet.

Ha! Thanks everyone. The new Eddie Bauer catalog just arrived and
there's a great picture of of Tour Ronde smack dab in the background on
page 7. This shot was made at what appears to be the same time of day,
from the lower of the two steep snow slopes on the North Face of Tour
Ronde.

Perfect light, in an awesome scene. What is that small figure near the center?

Comments by Paul Bracey on Sun, 11/16/14 17:13

That's my climbing partner, Jeremy.

FYI, you can just make out six of those iconic gondolas from the Vallee
Blanche Aerial Tram just above the sun/shadow line in the clouds, way
off in the distance. :)
