Christkindlmarkt

Christmas since I moved to my current address starts with Christkindlmarkt (or German Christmas Festival) on the last days of November. There is light, music, food and a range of goods to buy.

There are a lot of people selling various items at the Christkindlmarkt but the woodcarver is the only person actually making his items. So he has become a Father Christmas sort of a character bringing the sound and spirit of Christmas with him.

The best of the season to all my fellow photographers at PC and may there be many photographic opportunities created by this season of peace and sharing.

I love your Gentleman with the beard - photographically I also like the sense of movement you have captured.
Thanks for all your postings in 2014 Jan - with several pictures at each posting, I feel you must be the most prolific contributor to PC.
Have a wonderful Christmas and a successful 2015.

really nice OP. I like there is a movement in hand of the artist.

Sharan:

Thank you for viewing and commenting. I had asked the woodcarver if it was okay to photograph. He said he had no problem with that but he was glad that I had asked him.

The woodcarver seems to be a central figure in these festivities and he really captures the fun of the German Christmas Festival for me.

I wanted to ask if you would share your email with me. I much rather respond to comments with an email. Just makes it more personal for me.

Happy Holidays Jan. The concentration plus the hand blur captures the craftsman's process in action.

Merry Christmas, Jan. Your photo is almost as if you caught Santa in his workshop. Nice
sense of the festival in the others, too.
