I like playing with simple images of sunlight through blinds casting shadows on walls and so I thought I would try and apply the same effects to a sign that was hanging in my apartment block hallway.

The hallway in my apartment block was being painted and there was a Wet Paint sign which I took a picture of and then using the following sequence of effects I achieved this stylized human like face which reminds one of a cartoon character.

Nik midnight (green,80,40,100,60)
CS5 brightness/contrast (150,-50)
Flaming Pear kyoto color (46,94,51,53,dodge)
swerve (100,75,0,normal)
india ink (netting,4x,thicker,invert all,
80,75,20,burn)

I just thought I would post this image but really I prefer the 2nd and 3rd images in the comment section which are more my idea of an abstract.

Nikon D7100
AF-S Nikkor 18-140mm
f5.3 1/15//80mm

Taken August 3, 2015.

I think the OP AND the original are brilliant!

Great work to convert wet paint to a cartoon.

They are all nice but I like the last two the best. Good work, Jan.;-)

Very nice series. Although they all are very cool, I like the OP the
best of the bunch -- very interesting result.

I can always recognized your photos without looking at the name. This one threw me completely. At first I thought it was a hand drawn painting, until I scrolled down to see your name. The OP is my preferred image with Wet Paint coming in 2nd. Interesting brush strokes for the sign, similar to Japanese style.

I like the OP. And the wet paint sign. Interesting that you made Japanese brush strokes
into what looks like an anime cartoon. The last post is something unusual too.

The OP is quite fascinating Jan - I like it a lot!

Love the creative result of the OP. Such expression in that face. Like the others too.

Yeah, that OP looks like a distressed cartoon character.
