Another view of Watkins Glen,

Another Watkins Glen shot, Pentax K50, 2.0 secs, f16 iso 200.

Some people removed from left side.

Before I enter this in my Camera Club competition I thought I'd get some more of your excellent feedback.

I like how the various elements (the rock face, the waterfall, the falling water on the left, even the walkway) work to lead the viewer vertically through the image... every element seemingly complementing the other elements, the range of greens and the sense of texturing that comes from the adjoining rock formations. The adjoining rock formations serve as a natural frame for the waterfall. My eye was immediately caught by the waterfall when I opened to the full picture. I wonder if the inclusion of the people you say you removed would have brought a sense of human scale to your composition of Watkins Glen.

That's pretty awesome, Steve.

Thanks Jan and Paul. I don't think the people will help as they are blurred due to the long exposure and would distract.

Beautiful. But I wonder about the colors...the water is very bluish/greenish color.;-)

Good composition and an eye-pleasing amount of blurring to the water. The blue/green color that Sandi M. mentions caught my eye as well. Before entering it into a competition I'd try some different levels adjustments on the Blue or green channels, or do a "remove color cast" using the pool of water at the base of the falls as my 'white' reference. Try a few variations and see if any of them grab you. If not, then by all means go with it as you posted here.

I also like the comp. And nice shutter speed. And really nice
light. In general, I like bold color, but I'm gonna jump on the
bandwagon that this might be a bit too much blue-green.

Thanks, I reduced the blue/green and scored 27 out of 30, also image of the year!

Congratulations! Well-deserved. I'm sure it looks fantastic with the
blue/green reduced.
